Animal R&R – Episodes 3 and 4

Emmy-nominated television show written and directed by Elliott Kennerson. Produced for KPBS, San Diego. In Episode 3, the wildlife rehabbers at The Fund for Animals in Ramona take in a pair of sibling coyote pups who escaped the Carlsbad Poinsettia Fire with badly burned paws. For another burned victim, the cause was man-made: a red-shouldered hawk recovers at Project Wildlife from an encounter with an electric fence. In Episode 4, Orphan black bears from the Central Valley, an osprey from Lake Murray and the unsung heroes of the urban environment – bats – and their struggle to survive in light of California’s drought, are featured.
